REVIEW: The Vicious Head Society – Abject Tomorrow (Album)

By Cheri Faulkner · On February 3, 2017

The Vicious Head Society aren’t something I’d actually usually listen to but I have been extremely surprised at how much I really liked the album. It has the greatest riffs to keep me going on the melody while the cleans keep the vibe going and the drums complimenting everything that goes on from behind the track which in most music now just sounds choppy & change.

Some of the most aggressive vocals come with a nice sounding chug really sets the mood for a different style in certain parts of the songs which is refreshing as it’s not all about just screaming into a mic to let anger off but to actually tell a story which is what I can tell this album is about. Parts of every songs also make me bang my head along to it and I now just want to see these guys and really appreciate the live show that I reckon would be filled with extreme precision and energy from the guys in The Vicious Head Society.

There’s not much that I could really speak bad of this album. It’s been incredibly thought out and you can definitely tell it’s come across as a concept album. I can’t actually choose a favourite song on this release as they all seem to be hitting it really hard with unique sounds and it’s nice to hear a bit of a guitar solo in the songs like Abject Tomorrow. It also having pretty long tracks made me worry that I’d get bored with it but I never so if you guys get time to check the album out I suggest you do it!
