To Kill Achilles face the difficult task of trying to penetrate an already over-saturated market, but with their unique brand of melodic metalcore they continue to demonstrate how they’re more than just a cut above the rest. They already possess a worldwide fan base thanks to their genre-blurring sound, and after seven years of existence they’re finally getting the true recognition they deserve. Listeners relate to TKA, and this is largely due to their, ‘It’s okay not to be okay,’ message combined with taking lyrical inspiration from their own, personal life experiences. They’ve already played a multitude of countries worldwide and are in the process of planning a tour of Asia, and have shared the stage with some giants in the scene including Heart of a Coward, While She Sleeps, The Browning, I Killed The Prom Queen and so, so many more.
This year To Kill Achilles plan to release their new EP, Anywhere But Here in October of 2017, and today we can exclusively bring you the first play of their brand new track from the EP, Chapters, along with accompanying video.
The band have announced a run of UK shows in support of the release of Anywhere But Here as follows:
Q: What can you tell us about the sound and direction you’ve taken for your new EP, Anywhere But Here?
A: The record was written to have more of an aggressive sound than our previous releases, all the while retaining a melodic influence. Vocally, we tried to develop a style that kept up with the aggressive nature of the band, but focused on clarity so every listener can understand the message of each song. This record is sad, it focuses on the parts of life that are most difficult to deal with.
Q: Which bands have you taken influence from during the writing and recording process?
A: We take influence from a wide range of bands, too many to list. We listen to all types of genres, but also take a lot of influence from film and cinema. Visuals have always been a huge inspiration for us.
Q: What are your plans for the band concluding 2017 and heading into 2018?
A: Our main goals have stayed the same since we first began as a band. To tour as often and as far as we can. We plan on hitting some new territories in 2018, hope to see you all soon!
Q: If you could collaborate with any other artist, who would it be?
A: We would love collaborate with Architects. Architects are one of the most incredible and talented bands out there right now. Everything about their music is amazing and it would be the biggest honour to work with them.
Q: Finally, describe the new EP in three words?
A: Lifes hardest moments.
