REVIEW: The Acacia Strain – Gravebloom (Album)

By Kyle Watson · On July 11, 2017

Currently on the Vans Warped Tour across the United States, The Acacia Strain are back with their blood boiling as they punish all with their latest release via Rise Records, titled Gravebloom.

The Deathcore/Hardcore hybrid outfit from Massachusetts may be pushing 16 years old, but they still know how to write record with a lot of venom and bile. The initial singles Bitter Pill, Big Sleep and Worthless were just the start and a warning for what was to come on June 30th.

The most aggressive, sadistic and bludgeoning record of the year thus far has trumped the majority of it’s peers, and has placed Deathcore as the most successful genre of 2017, reinstating it’s dominance. This is exciting, and will help pave the way for future artists or releases from this point onward.

The two major songs off this record check out are Plague Doctor and Abyssal Depths, as long as you can accept the consequence that these songs will pulverize you beyond recognition.

If you are a fan of bands such as Despised Icon, Pantera, Madball and the Beatdown Hardcore genre itself, then you have come to the right place. Enjoy your final seconds on this planet as you listen to 2017’s most unforgiving and violent album.

The old dogs still have new tricks up their sleeves. They still can give one hell of a savage bite. Gravebloom seizes you by the throat and continues to crush the life out of you with every note and lyric.
