REVIEW: Still Standing – Controlled Society (EP)

By Cheri Faulkner · On October 22, 2016

This is such a interesting sound as it’s mixes old school & new school sounds of metalcore which is certainly something very uncommon now, it’s also really refreshing to hear the bass in the background of the track which I never seem to hear in bands that are starting to make it in the scene.

Still Standing have really thought about what they want to write and have done it with such ease as it gets me moving quite a lot while listening to the Ep.

I personally can not fault any of the tracks but the one that really sticks out for me is their single they released off this EP called No Remedy as it’s got such a tight punchy sound while having the very eerie melodic chords going over the song to make it like the band have been around for years and could live up to the touring circuit of Europe and UK easily with the sound of the EP.

the last track on the EP titled Cage Theory makes me think of Like Moths To Flames at the start of it but then it drops into just what you’d only be able to describe as Still Standing style of play.

I can not fault any of this record for a 3 track EP it has the right bits in the right places and It’s completely solid at what they’ve created!

Definitely recommend anyone to check this band out for a solid sound which I reckon might go a bit wild live.
