REVIEW: She Must Burn – Grimoire (Album)

By Cheri Faulkner · On March 29, 2017

She Must Burn are certainly a unique sounding band in a lot of commercial sized bands and it’s no surprise they’re starting to kick up some serious heat. They draw influence from a lot of Blackened Metal bands alongside Cradle Of Filth which you can certainly here on the vocalists ranges. This release is certainly something that I could listen to for quite sometime as there’s some extremely unique sounds going on in the mix.

The fact they changed their female vocalist Aimy was upsetting because her voice was incredible but they’ve got a new one in which I feel doesn’t suit as much as Aimy and it upsets me but it still builds an atmosphere on the softer bits of the album. There’s definitely some incredible songs on his but the one that really stick outs for me would have to be Gloom which also features Sean from Make Them Suffer who are also an incredible band and he’s so down to earth about everything.  Another personal favourite of mine would have to be Hallowed Grounds for the eerie keyboarding plays that go on in the back of the tracks that really build an atmosphere on the slow parts of the songs.

If you’re after something with a bit of a Blackened metal punch then I’d recommend this album to anyone who is after just that. Everything in this is well thought out and the fact that each instrumental and vocals come together extremely tight shows that this band are here to make a scene on what they release.
