Crawling out from within the underground scene, Sacrificial Slaughter has granted us all a slice of sheer brutality from their new album. Produced via Horror Gore Death Productions, Generation Terror has intense offerings from all six fuelled tracks, leaving no time for listeners to take a breather.
Overall, I have to express how impressed I am with the blend of vocals and instruments. Most commonly generic death metal tends to be drowned by guttural vocals and crunching rhythm guitar, yet the groovy old- school bass and elevating riffs are very much audible. Bare Knuckle Beat Down showcases the band’s thrash elements with clean legato phrasing, speed- changing all driven along a blast beat speed boat from hell!
Tracks like Systematic Genocide and Meticulous Abomination remind me of the familiar structures used by Deicide, except the technical execution of these Californian lads is very much tight and meticulous. Despite this, the repetitive crunching of the rhythm guitar became too predictable throughout the album which tarnishes it from standing out from the conservative death metal scene. To end this terror explosion, a cover of the classic Carnivore track Race War is sure to make you wary of the quality standards that this band is capable of reaching. Concepts of suffering and pure pissed- off aggression are sure to keep you tense, if you’re looking for a fight then this album is sure to prep you for war.
