Kings Hollow are still a pretty new band on to the scene but they’ve been conquering their scene slowly but surely and I can understand when listening to their debut EP titled The Crown even though it’s only self produced so could be doing with a bit better production on it, you can tell it has an extremely well executed sound for a new band.
After them releasing their new single titled Herald I was extremely happy to get my hands on this to review, I can certainly see a very old school metalcore sound to this EP which is refreshing as everything is getting to samey and will never be like the old day of metalcore when it was all about the music and not an image.
The whole of this EP I can’t really fault apart from the production but that’s understandable for a self produced album.
Personally my favourite track off the Crown would easily have to be The Eye as I remember listening to the demo version of this and loving it so it’s nicer to hear it sounding a bit more crisp and full of it’self.
I’d certainly recommend anyone to check out Kings Hollow if they play anywhere near you as I reckon they’d be so much better live and have a wild stage presence just listening to this EP.
Another song that did stand out for me on this EP would have to be the last track called This Is The End for the glitchy sounding breakdown at the start of it and then a melodic guitar hit and the vocalist bashed out his violent screams to compliment it well.
Extremely well executed debut EP from Kings Hollow which they self produced
