After seeing Ed Sheeran and John Mayer live it’s the perfect time to review the upcoming album from Danny Gruff. The singer fits in with the big names and is making a name for himself if as support artist or headliner. Whether he is playing a good 200 gigs a year or the ONTAW project where he released a new track every week throughout a year, Danny doesn’t seem to run out of ideas.
His self titled debut album carries 11 tracks including single release We Got this. This track should spread positivity towards the future and optimism. Second track on the album called Comfortable is a really catchy track and along with After The Storm definitely one of my personal favourites. Pieces as well as Old Haunts mark the slow songs of the album reflecting the singers great voice. With Old Haunts Danny looks back to his earlier years and builds a connection to the track Share The Same Skies by making this line part of the lyrics. Pieces instead is the only break up song on the album.
The singer said first track Tightrope kind of leads the way for the album musically and emotionally. But overall each song has it’s own personality and little story behind it which is complimented in a great way by Danny’s rough voice. The albums story has also been caught in the artwork by leading from the dark into the light.
Not only does he have a great voice but he also managed to fill the album with a great sound comforting the personal stories
