So we get sent the new offering of Betraying The Martyrs and I feel this is their best release to date, melodic chords which really hit hard while they have their typical heavy trademark drops. It’s by far the best produced album they’ve put out as well which is really great due to the intricate bits in their songs which only shine through on a top notch mix and this album certainly does just that. Everything about this release and the songs shine through to the best of their ability and shows that the guys have put a lot of time into their music to make it truly what it is.
I feel they’ve added some more generic parts in some of their songs and some of the clean vocal lines sound forced but they’ve got a sound which really works well together on this new release and it certainly doesn’t sound much like their older stuff apart from the orchestra/keys in the back of the vocals which would surprise me if they didn’t have them in the songs on the album.
Aaron Matts(vocalist) really shines through on his harsh vocals being one of the heavier side of vocals I hear which is quite weird considering this release is quite literally a metalcore release but with an added heavier vibe and taking influence from other genre’s which really shines through well.
Every track on this album has a unique sound but quite clearly showing that it’s a Betraying The Martyrs sound and it’s no surprise that Sumerian Records keep banging out albums for these guys due to the size they keep gaining.
Check this album out if you’re looking for something knew to listen to while keeping the same trademark Betraying The Martyrs sound that you’d expect them to have,
Betraying The Martyrs have really found their sound on this album!
