Download Festival’s new announcement sees an addition of a whopping 65 bands to the weekend long bill! From Cancer Bats to Marmozets, Shinedown to Higher Power, there is plenty of choice for a variety of fans.
Alongside the announcement of new bands, come the stage splits and lower headline slot announcements. You Me At Six, Parkway Drive and Rise Against will headline the Zippo Encore Stage. 2/3 of The Avalanche Stage, presented by Kerrang Radio’s Fresh Blood are made up of Neck Deep and The Hives. And if you want to spend the weekend in the pit, The Dogtooth Stage not only sees the headline acts Tesseract, Thy Art Is Murder, and Baroness, but a whole host of bands from the underground heavy music scenes, with bands such as Knocked Loose and Malevolence absolutely killing it as of late. And scattered over other stages are big hitters such as Stray From the Path, Stick to Your Guns and Hatebreed.
If you’re into something a little less aggressive, bands such as Milk Teeth, Thunder, Boston Manor, Black Stone Cherry and Volbeat are all set to appear across the weekend. The huge announcement starts to create one of the strongest Download line ups of the past few years, and with such an array of musical styles there’s something to entice everyone.
The festival will be headlined by Avenged Sevenfold, Guns ‘N’ Roses and The Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy! Download runs from June 8th-10th at Donington Park and tickets for the festival can be purchased here
