Download’s third and final headline announcement comes in the form of eighties Rock legends Guns N’ Roses. The band will headline the festival’s Saturday night, with Avenged Sevenfold and Ozzy Osbourne already confirmed as the weekends’ other headline acts.
Returning to the festival for the first time in over a decade, Guns N’ Roses will hit Download after consistent touring since April 2016, and shall be performing their first UK festival set since the reunion of their classic lineup, after selling over 1 million tickets across Europe in 2017. The band’s 2016 reunion was the first time in over a decade since the band had performed together in this classic line up, Axl Rose, guitar legend Slash original bass player Duff McKagan are joined by Dizzy Reed, Richard Fortus, Frank Ferrer, and Melissa Reese.
Download promoter Andy Copping says, “It’s great to have this iconic line up of Guns N’ Roses headlining at Download. I am sure I am not alone when I say I have been wanting this to happen for years. It will be an incredible show and will be one of the highlights of the Download weekend!”
With Guns N’ Roses now completing the headline announcements, Download have put forward a very strong selection for the weekend, with Ozzy having never performed solo at Download; Avenged Sevenfold are one of the world’s biggest heavy rock acts and while Guns N’ Roses may have headlined the festival previously, the return of Slash is set to make their performance even more monumental!
