Monday morning saw Download announce metal legend Ozzy Osborne as the festival’s first headliner, with him set to close out the weekend’s festivities on the Sunday night, for his first solo performance at the festival, as part his final world tour. Now two days later, we get the announcement that Avenged Sevenfold are to return to the hallowed ground of Donington for their second headline performance, having originally played their first UK festival headline slot back in 2014.
The band will take to the stage on the Friday evening of the festival; with their phenomenal stage performance and such a strong back catalog, from their early conquering of metalcore, to their most recent tackling of hard rock and prog metal, this is a set you wont want to miss. Download promoter Andy Copping is just as excited saying, “You don’t often see bands like Avenged Sevenfold top the charts, but much like seeing them live, they’re not to be underestimated”.
The band “are more than honored to be a part of this legendary show and line up. Being asked to headline Download for the second time is a career highlight. We would like to thank our UK A7X family”
Now with only one headliner remaining to be announced, we have two of the biggest names in metal. Download Festival runs from 8-10th June and is based in Donington, Leicestershire and tickets can be bought here.
