The Bottom Line finished yet another successful tour and even celebrated an anniversary show along the way with show number 300.
A Thursday evening in Islington – London sounds like the perfect night to celebrate the end of a successful tour. The support on this run came from Weatherstate from the south coast playing a proper energetic punk rock set and despite a smallish crowd certainly gave their all and got everyone nodding and jumping along. Second on was Joe from Forever Came Calling representing the band on his own this evening and played a striped down acoustic set. The man from the States performed some great songs with a lot of potential. As an acoustic set in between punk rock packed bands is not an easy task he was definitely successful with a good sound and some banter with the people around (Or TBL band members that happen to stand in the crowd).
After the release of their album No Vacation earlier this month The Bottom Line were up to present an entirely new setlist. Once the stage was set with inflatable palm trees, they were starting off with Reasons which was the first single release. Followed by Gone it was clear that the fans are digging the new tracks, singing along at the top of their lungs to help out the partially lost voice of the lead singer. Playing the new songs Everything was already familiar and Doomed seemed to become a secret fan favourite. Pretty much all older songs retired now except of I still hate you and Insecure. Of course, Cal wouldn’t let the chance to crowd surf get away which is a classic occurrence during this song. During the set, the band was as chatty and fun as ever and obviously not to forget the usual banter of throwing guitar picks at each other and jumping around in synchronicity. The approximately 1 hour set finished with latest release In Your Memory after which the band took their usual time to take selfies, sign stuff and have a chat and laugh with the fans that were sticking around.
The Bottom Line recently signed to Marshall Records and hit a milestone of streams on Spotify for their new album. This is definitely a band to watch and with a lot more to come!
A band to watch with a lot of energy, fun, humour and knowing how to keep the fans entertained
