Imagine Dragons played the historic Roundhouse and it almost felt a bit as if it was kind of a secret gig as it didn’t seem as much advertised as other shows. But nevertheless it didn’t fail to sell out very quickly.
The show started with a super energetic performance by support act Saint PHNX. The duo from Glasgow presented a great set of 6 songs including Power, Reload and latest single Rise. The sound of the two brothers with a lot of drums and rhythm fitted perfectly to the main band of the night.
When Imagine Dragons entered the stage they started their set with the song Thunder followed by It’s Time which immediately had the fans singing along to. The songs were accompanied by some awesome lightning effects and a background looking like a sky full of stars. During Hear Me singer Dan Reynolds jumped on the drum kit to play along to the song.
The band performed their big hit Demons followed by Shots and On Top of the World. The entire performance was very energetic and powerful with great lighting and a happy crowd singing and jumping along. The additional drum set on stage as well as the change from Dan to singing, playing drums and playing keyboard made the performance pretty catchy.
The band dedicated their song It’s time to Manchester and performed a cover of Creep by Radiohead which they started out acoustically and underlined Dan’s amazing voice perfectly. Of course we didn’t miss out on a drum solo. As an encore Imagine Dragons played an extended version of Radioactive which was definitely an amazing choice and filled the encore perfectly by doing exactly what the crowd asked for by playing ‘one more song’!
A quite simple but catchy and entertaining performance combined with an outstanding voice
