Good Charlotte finished their UK tour with a final show in Brixton and their last show for this year.
Support on this tour came from trio nothing.nowhere and upcoming UK band Milk teeth. Main support was Against The Current, who previously had their own UK tour and were tour buddies with Good Charlotte and All Time Low before.
While the setlist itself was the same throughout the tour, the band came up with some specials for the London show. Starting off the stage was covered with a big white sheet to show some old footage as well as live performances from the earlier years of Good Charlotte. Once the countdown started to come on, Linkin Parks In the end played as the bands entrance song. They had Linkin Park playing inbetween bands too but considering the last London show of the band including Chester was at Brixton Academy gave it some more meaning.
Good Charlotte came on, as energetic as ever kicking off the show with The Anthem. They got the fans jumping and singing along within the first seconds. The setlist filled with 22 songs consisted of only three songs from the new album Youth Authority with War, Life Changes and first single Makeshift love. Due to the 15 years anniversary since the album release of The Young and The Hopeless back in 2002 the band decided to play almost the entire album on this tour. This also included an acoustic version of Emotionless, with Benji Madden being alone on stage.
They used the occasion to invite a special guest aswell. Sam Carter from The Architects joined Good Charlotte on stage for the song The River. Sam’s voice sounded great along Joel Madden and gave the song even more energy. The set finished with the classic Lifestyle of the Rich and the Famous while the Madden brothers mentioned on several occasions during the show how thankful they are for the fans that have always been there to support them, while radio stations declined to play their songs back in the days. It is those moments from their speeches that show how much they genuinely appreciate everthing. On a side note: the entire set has been filmed by 3 different cameras so rumour has it they might release another live DvD.
The revival of The Young and the Hopeless for their 15th anniversary feat. a special guest.
