Going into Raffs Bar you wouldn’t expect it to be a great venue but you’d be surprised listening to the way they set everything up. I was very intrigued into listening to these bands as I heard that Borders were playing their new EP in full which excited me a lot.
We had the incredible From Once We Came up first which truly blew me away with their incredible technique & vocal ranges. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing these guys a few times and they just keep getting better and better every time. For an opener of a local show this is by far one of the best I have had the fortune of seeing.
We come onto the second and touring support Jonestown who are one of the most sought after bands on the scene at the moment so it’s no surprise that Siege Music picked them up. As soon as they started playing I was impressed at what brutality they can play in a room where there isn’t actually many people moving. I felt these guys are an incredible set of musicians that play hard and it was nice to hear one of my most played releases being pretty much played in full with such precision that I could recognise every bit perfectly.
We come onto the final band Borders who I have had the pleasure of also seeing plenty of times and know they only get better. Straight away I could tell the room would erupt and with me standing at the front giving it all headbanging(with no hair if I am honest.) I am definitely the most impressed I have been with these guys and they even played my favourite old songs of there’s, while mixing in the new tracks. I can certainly see why these guys were headlining this night and I am still in shock that they’re not bigger than what they are.
Would definitely recommend anyone going to check out any of these bands in their areas as they’ve really brought their A game to make it a super incredible night of live music.
